The Hildbrandt Silencer Liner Rotary features a 1.50mm bearing and is slightly faster running than its counterpart, the Beretta Shader, which is running a 2mm bearing. Previous versions of this frame design based on the Swiss Rotary featured variations of 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm and 4mm bearing sizes. Despite the selections of bearing sizes, most tattoo artists using this rotary frame design tended to only use the 2mm bearing. The reason the 2mm was so popular was because it was suitable for both lining and shading and was arguably the most functional out of all the bearing sizes. Larger = less stable machine, smaller = needles snag the skin, this is because even small variations in the diameter of the bearing resulted into big differences in the way the machine ran. During the development of the 2nd version of the Beretta and Silencer, we wanted to maintain a difference in speed performance between the two models but did not want to overdo it. So we created the 1.50mm bearing for the Silencer, this bearing is smaller by the 2mm just enough to increase the speed of the machine without taking away from its usability. Beware of fake Hildbrandt machines, Hildbrandt machines all come with a codified warranty certificate that can be verified by emailing or calling us.
**The Silencer and Beretta Rotary by Hildbrandt’s had a role swap in all post 9/2014 models. The Beretta was changed from a 1.75mm bearing to a 2mm one and the Silencer was updated to a 1.5mm bearing.
